At Bon Bon Fête, we’re all about a good party! In fact, “good party” is the literal English translation of our name. We believe in good parties and happy guests….and hosts! When you host a party, you should get to enjoy it, and that’s where we come in! From planning every detail, to sourcing materials, to designing balloon garlands, to calligraphy, to setting up and making sure everything is executed exactly how you dreamed it - we have you covered!
Meet the Team
Bonnie Bontempo
OWNER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Hi, I’m Bonnie. I grew up with one of those moms who threw the best birthday parties. The ones everyone in school wanted to go to and no one wanted to miss because they got talked about all year. You know the type of mom I’m talking about - the Pinterest moms before there was Pinterest. I have always loved a good party and everything else that comes with entertaining. I was probably the only person in my dorm with a subscription to Martha Stewart Living in college. After grad school, I became a teacher. I found that the part I liked the best about teaching was the planning, and after moving several times for my husband’s job, I eventually stopped teaching and became a fashion stylist for a few brands. When we moved to San Diego, I decided to take some classes in event planning and management, and got into wedding planning by assisting luxury planners. I quickly realized that many of the skills I had developed for teaching easily translated to the less glamorous, but crucial aspects of event planning and management. Logistics aren’t sexy, but they make a party run smoothly!
We relocated to my home town of Tinseltown in March of 2020 and I had plans to finally open my own business, but you know how that went. Then, I finally decided to just go for it in the spring of 2021 at 5 months pregnant. The rest is history and glitter.
As a kid, everyone called me Bon Bon, even people I had just met. It still happens as an adult. When I got married, my name really did become Bon Bon. I knew then that I would never escape the nickname, but I also learned what my new last name meant - "good times.” Similarly, the French translation of “bon fête” means “good party” or “happy party,” and that about sums up what we do around here.

LEAD COORDINATOR
I love organizing events because with every event you create experiences that people will remember. I have made it my goal to plan, design and coordinate dinner parties, anniversaries, theme parties, weddings, corporate events, and more. I have spent years nurturing strong industry relationships in order to make the client experience enjoyable and easy to navigate. I have always been passionate about event planning and coordination. Event production is a collection of all of my favorite things: storytelling, art, design, and entertainment. It is a chance to steal a little piece of someone’s heart!
We love absolutely everything about celebrating - except the waste. Unfortunately, the events industry is a wasteful one, and there isn’t any sugar coating it. We do our best to address this at Bon Bon Fête by offering more sustainable options whenever possible, and working with clients who feel strongly about environmental concern to minimize waste.
Some practices we employ regularly are saving and repurposing decor whenever possible, donating florals or balloon installs to give them second lives, avoiding monogrammed items that cannot be recycled or reused. We also strive to suggest party favor options that will be appreciated and used by guests, rather than sent directly to the landfill as soon as the party is over. Whenever possible, we repurpose balloons from one installation to another.
